Heel and Soul was created out of an idea that everyone, everywhere, can use a pick me up. Without the ability to control their surroundings, a child needs that more than anyone else.
A new pair of shoes to start the school year is something that fulfills a basic need as well as makes a lasting impression on the youth of our communities.
When you see the look on a child’s face after they receive something they both want and need, it can melt your heart. It’s the little things that can make all the difference.
Your donation of new pairs of shoes will be distributed to children in the Greater Yakima Valley and Greater Tri Cities Area, based on the area you donated in. Our generous sponsors and drop off locations will accept shoes through July 31st. All monetary donations will be used to purchase shoes after the drop offs have ended to determine what additional sizes may be needed most.
The shoes will then be distributed in August at the Salvation Army Community Centers in Yakima and Pasco. The dates will be announced by the end of July based on the number of shoes donated.
This initiative would not be possible without the support of every business participating. Please join us in thanking them for putting children first in our communities.
Thank you to our community partners and their special considerations, which have been integral to the success of this initiative:
For providing the opportunity to make monetary donations in both the Greater Yakima and Tri Cities areas. Donors and sponsors alike are able to trust that their donations will be used for the sole purpose of providing new shoes for children in our communities. And, your donations are potentially tax-deductible.
For serving as our partner for purchasing new shoes with all monetary donations in our communities as well as our distribution centers for shoes in August
For providing all boxes for shoe donations in our communities.
And a special thank you to you for reading more about Heel and Soul and helping provide new shoes for deserving children in our communities. We couldn’t do this without any of you!
